Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, torn into pieces
    1 c. diced celery
    4 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
    1 (10 oz.) box frozen peas (uncooked)
    1/2 c. diced green pepper
    1 medium diced sweet onion
    8 slices bacon, fried and crushed
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 c. mayonnaise
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Mix first 7 ingredients.
    Mix sugar and mayonnaise and spread on top.
    Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese.
    Cover; do not mix. Refrigerate for 8 to 12 hours.
    Mix before serving.
