Hot Buttered Rum - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. Land O Lakes butter
    2 c. vanilla ice cream, softened
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 oz. rum or 1/4 tsp. rum extract
    3/4 c. boiling water
    nutmeg (sprinkle)
Preparation
    In a 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, brown sugar and butter. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until butter is melted and sugar has dissolved, 6 to 8 minutes.
    In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked mixture with ice cream. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often until smooth, 1 to 2 minutes.
