7-Minute Fat-Free Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. water
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    dash of lite salt
    2 unbeaten egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, water, cream of tartar and salt in a saucepan. Bring to boiling, stirring until sugar dissolves.
    Very slowly add sugar syrup to the egg whites in a bowl.
    Beat constantly with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form, about 7 minutes.
    Yields frosting for 2 (8 or 9-inch) layers or one 10-inch tube cake.
