Cuban Black Beans(In A Crock-Pot) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (1 lb.) bag dried black beans
    salt pork, ham bone or knuckle
    2 or 3 medium bay leaves
    2 bell peppers, cut in strips
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    1 tsp. cumin
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1/4 c. sliced olives (optional)
    1 chorizo (Spanish sausage, optional)
Preparation
    Place washed dried beans in crock-pot (do not soak beans). Pour boiling water over beans to cover with 2 inches.
    Add salt pork or ham bone and bay leaves; cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours, until tender, checking that beans remain covered.
    Add water as needed.
    Add remaining ingredients and cook for 1 hour additional.
    Serve over white rice or in a side bowl.
    Serves 8.
