Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
2 oz. red food coloring
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream the shortening with the sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Make a paste of the cocoa and food coloring.
Add to creamed mixture. Sift flour and salt twice.
Add buttermilk alternately with flour to creamed mixture. Add vanilla.
Put vinegar in deep bowl.
Add soda (it will foam).
When blended, add to creamed cake batter.
Do not beat batter, just blend well. Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
Pour batter into pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
