Pecan Ditty - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. pecans
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    20 Ritz crackers
    1 tsp. vanilla
    5 Tbsp. pineapple preserves
Preparation
    Beat egg whites with cream of tartar.
    Gradually add 1 cup sugar and heat until stiff.
    Roll crackers fine and fold into egg whites and add nuts and vanilla.
    Bake in buttered pie pan at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
    Cool.
    Beat whipped cream.
    Add preserves. Place in cooled shell.
