Cream Of Asparagus Soup - cooking recipe

3 c. sliced asparagus (about 1 lb.)
2 c. chicken broth
3/4 tsp. fresh thyme, divided
1 bay leaf
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 Tbsp. flour
2 c. 1% milk
dash of nutmeg
2 tsp. butter
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. grated lemon rind
Preparation

Combine asparagus, broth, 1/2 teaspoon thyme, bay leaf and garlic in large saucepan over medium heat; bring to boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10 minutes. Discard bay leaf. Place asparagus mix in blender. Process until smooth. Place flour in pan. Gradually add the milk. Whisk
and stir until blended. Add asparagus mixture and ground nutmeg. Stir to combine. Bring to boil. Reduce; simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove and stir in 1/4 teaspoon thyme, butter, salt and lemon rind. Enjoy!
