Apple-Walnut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. coarsely chopped apples (skin left on)
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts (I have used hickory nuts)
Preparation

Combine apples and sugar; let stand.
Beat eggs slightly; beat in oil and vanilla.
Mix and sift flour, soda, cinnamon and salt. Stir into egg mixture alternately with apple-sugar mixture.
Stir in nuts.
Pour into greased and floured oblong 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until cake tests done.
Let stand in pan until cool.
(I like a thin powdered sugar icing on top but you can leave without; a very rich, heavy, moist cake.)
