Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour, sifted
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    6 c. chopped apples
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. each: nutmeg and cinnamon
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together. Add beaten eggs and mix well. Sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture, then stir in apples, vanilla and nuts.
    Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350\u00b0.
