Honey Lemon Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 Tbsp. poppy seed (optional)
    3/4 c. butter
    1/2 c. honey
    1 egg yolk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease 2 cookie sheets.
    In a bowl beat butter, honey and sugar until fluffy.
    Add egg yolk, lemon peel and vanilla until smooth.
    Stir in dry ingredients until mixed well. Divide dough in half.
    Shape into 8-inch logs.
    Slice logs into 1/4-inch thick slices.
    Place on cookie sheets 1/2 inch apart. Bake for 7 minutes.
    Let stand for 1 minute; then cool.
    Makes 5 1/2 dozen.
