Tomato Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. milk
5 c. peeled, chopped tomatoes
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 Tbsp. butter
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. dried whole basil (crushed)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Preparation

Combine flour, baking powder and salt; mix well.
Cut in shortening until mixture resembles course meal.
Add milk, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Set aside.
