Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. margarine
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 eggs, separated
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. packed coconut
    1 c. pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. coconut extract
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except egg whites.
    Beat egg whites and fold in.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 in three 9-inch cake pans.
    Cool and frost.
