Squash Almondine - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. fresh yellow squash, sliced
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. butter, melted
    1 c. cracker crumbs
    1/3 c. slivered almonds
Preparation
    In saucepan, just cover squash and onion with water.
    Cook until tender and drain.
    Mix with cheese, eggs, sugar, salt and pepper.
    Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
    Blend butter, crumbs and almonds and sprinkle on squash.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until done.
    May be prepared ahead.
    Serves 8.
