Ingredients

chicken for 4
1/4 c. butter or margarine
4 onions, sliced
1 can cream of mushroom soup or cream of celery or cream of chicken
1/2 c. white wine
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 c. plus sliced mushrooms
salt and pepper to taste
parsley
rice
Preparation

Brown chicken in butter.
Remove chicken from pan.
Brown sliced onions and mushrooms.
Add soup and stir.
Add wine and water.
Stir thoroughly.
Add thyme, salt and pepper.
Replace chicken in mixture.
Cover.
Cook over low heat for 30 minutes to an hour.
Serve over rice.
Serves 4.
