Gingerbread(100 Years Old) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. plain flour
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    pinch of salt
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 egg, separated (fold in white last)
Preparation
    Pour mixture into a 9 x 12-inch greased and floured pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Make the sauce; pour on cake while still warm.
