Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. brown sugar (firm pack)
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1/8 tsp. salt
    8 milk chocolate bars
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar and then beat in egg and vanilla.
    Add flour and salt.
    Spread dough in jelly roll pan (15 x 10 x 1-inch). Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes until browned.
    Put candy bars on warm cookie and return to oven for 1 minute or until chocolate is runny. Remove from oven and quickly spread across top.
    Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
    Cool and cut in squares.
    Yields 3 dozen bars.
