Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. oatmeal (quick Quaker)
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Pour water over oatmeal and set aside.
    Cream shortening and add sugar, then add eggs, one at a time.
    Add vanilla.
    Whip up oatmeal mixture and add to cream mixture.
    Add dry ingredients. Pour in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    When done, spread with topping.
