Buttermilk Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    3 c. pecans, chopped coarsely
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, buttermilk, soda and corn syrup in very large saucepan and bring to soft boil (234\u00b0 to 238\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
    Just before removing from heat, add pecans.
    Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla.
    Beat until mixture loses its gloss and holds its shape.
    Drop on wax paper in mounds.
    Makes about 5 dozen.
