Christmas Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. corn syrup
1 c. water
2 c. peanuts
2 Tbsp. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Mix sugar, syrup and water in a heavy pan.
Heat and stir until mixture boils.
Cook rapidly to 236\u00b0 on a candy thermometer. Slowly stir in peanuts.
Keep mixture bubbling.
Cook to 280\u00b0 on thermometer, stir constantly.
Stir in butter, cook to 300\u00b0. Remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla.
Sprinkle soda over the top. Stir for 15 seconds until it is puffy.
Pour into a buttered pan. Cool, break into pieces.
