Jenny'S Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 garlic cloves, minced
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    2 to 2 1/2 lb. round steak, ground
    3 large onions
    2 large green peppers
    6 c. tomatoes
    1 or 2 cans pinto beans, drained
    6 oz. tomato paste
    2 or 3 Tbsp. chili powder
    2 dashes cayenne pepper
    2 whole cloves
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper to taste
    rice (optional)
Preparation
    Cook garlic in oil
    until golden.
    Crumble ground round in pieces and cook 10\tminutes,
    breaking
    up to brown evenly. Pour off some of the
    oil
    and
    drippings into another skillet and cook sliced onions and
    green pepper until tender.
    Add to cooked ground round
    with tomatoes, beans, tomato paste, chili powder, cayenne pepper,
    cloves,
    bay
    leaf,
    salt and pepper. Cover; cook over low heat one hour.
    If too dry add additional tomatoes.
    If too
    much
    liquid,\tuncover
    and
    simmer longer. Serve over rice (optional).
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
