Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. butter
    6 apples
Preparation
    Make syrup of sugar, water, cinnamon and nutmeg; add butter. Pare and core apples; slice thin.
    Make your favorite pie dough recipe; roll 1/4-inch thick and cut in 5-inch squares.
    Sprinkle generously with additional sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and dot with butter.
    Fold corners to center.
    Pinch edges together.
    Place 1-inch apart on greased baking pan.
    Pour syrup over.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
