Delicious High Fiber Gems(No Salt, No Fat, No Eggs, No Sugar) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. bran, wheat germ or oat germ
1 c. flour
1 c. milk with 1 Tbsp. vinegar
1/2 c. black molasses
1/2 Tbsp. soda in 3/4 c. boiling water
Preparation

Mix flour and bran or germ in a large bowl.
Add milk with the vinegar in it and mix in with molasses until well mixed.
Measure the 3/4 cup of hard boiling water and stir in 1/2 tablespoon baking soda.
Mix all well.
Bake in greased muffin tins or iron gem tins, making 15, large or proportionately small ones.
Bake 20 minutes at 350\u00b0 or until done.
Cool slightly and remove from pans.
These are best if stored for a day and are to be eaten cold.
Good in lunches.
Good with a bit of butter.
Recipe is 85 years old, used for five generations.
