Batter For Franks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. cornmeal
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
    Mix in cornmeal. Cut in shortening.
    Add and stir until blended, the egg and milk. Dip into batter 8 to 12 wieners.
    Fry in deep, hot fat (365\u00b0) until brown, about 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
    Drain on absorbent paper.
    Insert wooden skewer in end of each frankfurter. Serve with catsup.
