Chocolate Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
3/4 c. cocoa
1 c. hot water
Preparation

Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Mix the baking soda in the buttermilk until it fizzes.
Mix flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa.
Add to shortening mixture alternately with buttermilk. Add water last.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 45 minutes.
