Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 pt. beef stock
    1/2 c. sliced carrots
    1/2 c. diced turnips
    1/2 c. shredded string beans
    1 small onion, diced
    1/2 c. green peas
    2 c. tomatoes (canned or stewed)
    1 c. diced potato
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cut carrots in thin slices, turnips in small dice and shred beans thinly.
    Add all vegetables to stock; gently simmer until vegetables are tender, adding hot water if soup becomes too thick. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    Serve with crisp crackers or croutons.
