Date Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. butter
    1/4 c. white sugar
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs, separated
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. chocolate chips
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. dates, chopped
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugars; add egg yolks and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
    Spread in greased 8 x 8-inch pan; cover with chocolate chips.
    Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; add 1 cup brown sugar and dates.
    Fold gently; pour over chocolate chips.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
