Aunt Julia'S 1-2-3-4 Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    3 c. flour, sifted with 3 tsp. double-acting baking powder and 1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Beat in eggs, one at a time. Gradually add flour and milk alternately.
    Add the vanilla. Makes three 9-inch layers or bake in mold about 1 1/2 hours or longer at 350\u00b0.
    Test with toothpick.
