55 Minute Yeast Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. shortening or oil
    2 pkg. yeast, in 1/2 c. lukewarm water
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    3 to 3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Scald milk.
    Measure shortening, sugar and salt into mixing bowl.
    Pour scalded milk over these ingredients; stir to mix. Cool.
    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
    When milk mixture is cooled, add dissolved yeast.
    Add flour; stir well after addition of each cupful.
    Beat together about 60 strokes; turn into greased bowl.
    Cover bowl; allow to rise until double in bulk in warm place.
    Make into rolls.
    Let rise about 3/4 hour.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 20 to 30 minutes.
