Ingredients

3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. thick sour cream
Preparation

Sift together flour, soda and salt.
Combine butter, sugar, egg and flavoring in mixing bowl and cream.
Add sour cream and half of flour mixture and blend.
Add remaining flour and stir in by hand. Set oven at 400\u00b0 to preheat.
Divide dough in half and roll each part on lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness.
Sprinkle with sugar, roll in lightly.
Cut with floured cutter.
Lift to greased cookie sheet with pancake turner.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
Cool and decorate.
Makes about 6 dozen.
