Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 c. yellow squash, sliced thin
    4 medium onions, sliced
    3 sweet peppers, sliced
    1/2 c. salt
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Mix yellow squash, onions, peppers and salt; mix well.
    Put in a crock pot.
    Cover with water, then with ice.
    Let set 3 hours. Mix remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
    Drain squash and add vinegar mixture.
    Boil for 3 minutes.
    Put in jars and seal.
