Carey'S Au Gratin Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. potatoes
    2 sticks butter
    12 Tbsp. flour
    5 c. light cream or half and half
    2 c. grated sharp cheese
    1 c. plain or seasoned bread crumbs
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Dice and boil potatoes.
    Melt 12 tablespoons of butter and blend in flour; gradually stir in cream until thickened and boiling.
    Put potatoes in baking dish.
    Pour half of cream over potatoes; add 1/2 of cheese.
    Pour over remaining cream and add last of cheese.
    Melt 4 tablespoons of butter and blend in crumbs. Sprinkle over top and bake at 400\u00b0 for approximately 30 minutes until bubbly.
