Old Fashioned Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. butter
    3 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    1 box raisins (about 2 c.)
    1 box dates
    1 c. nuts
    2 c. blackberry jam
    2 c. peach preserves
    1 c. apple butter
    1 c. strawberry preserves
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    6 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add eggs.
    Sift dry ingredients alternately with all other ingredients.
    We were never given any temperature but 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 and time according to size pans used. It was always baked in iron skillets in layers.
    I make mine in loaves.
