Glazed Raisin Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. seedless raisins
    1/4 c. soft butter
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. scalded milk
    1 cake compressed yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    2 eggs, well beaten
    4 c. (about) sifted flour
Preparation
    Combine raisins, butter, sugar and salt in mixing bowl; add scalded milk.
    Stir well, then cool to lukewarm.
    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
    Add yeast, eggs and 1 cup flour to cooled raisin mixture and beat until smooth.
    Add remaining flour gradually, beating well to make a medium soft dough.
    Cover and let rest for 10 minutes, then knead on lightly floured surface until smooth, adding more flour as needed to prevent sticking. Place dough in greased bowl; grease surface of dough.
    Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
    Punch down and let rest 10 minutes.
    Shape into a loaf and place in a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
    Bake in moderate oven at 375\u00b0 for about 30 minutes or until done.
    When loaf is sufficiently brown, cover lightly with foil to finish baking.
    Cool and glaze top with thin powdered sugar icing.
