Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
3/4 c. sour milk
3/4 tsp. salt
juice and grated rind of 1 orange
1 c. coconut
1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1/4 c. hot water
2 c. flour, sifted
1 c. chopped raisins
Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar thoroughly.
Add well beaten eggs and salt, also soda dissolved in hot water.
Add flour and sour milk alternately, then orange juice, rind, raisins and coconut.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 30 minutes in layers.
