Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 to 10 large potatoes, diced small
    salt to taste
    1 medium onion, diced
    1 lb. bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
    4 cans minced clams (with juice)
    2 qt. half and half
Preparation
    Cook
    potatoes and onion in salt water until well done. Without
    draining
    water, mash potatoes with hand masher until water is thickened.
    Add crumbled bacon and minced clams.
    Add half and half and season to taste and heat thoroughly.
    Do not boil.
    Serve
    immediately.\tMakes
    approximately
    1
    to
    1 1/2 gallons depending on potato broth.
