Crumb Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. (scant) shortening
    1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in a little water
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Mix sugar, flour and shortening until crumbly (like pie crust mixture) and reserve 1/2 cup crumbs for topping.
