Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. lentils
    2 qt. chicken stock
    1 chopped onion
    2 chopped carrots
    2 stalks chopped celery
    couple of green onions (optional)
    3 cloves minced garlic
    4 Tbsp. butter
    4 Tbsp. tomato paste
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Rinse lentils well.
    Saute vegetables in butter about 5 minutes, then add lentils, stock and seasonings.
    Cook slowly for an hour or until lentils are done.
    Add tomato paste and it's ready to serve.
    Garnish each soup bowl serving with some minced green onions.
