Red Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 Tbsp. cocoa
2 Tbsp. hot coffee
1 tsp. vanilla
1 7/8 c. flour *
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. red food coloring

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Blend in eggs.
Mix cocoa, food coloring and hot coffee together in small bowl.
Add to mix.
Sift flour, salt and soda together.
Add to mixture alternately with milk and vanilla.
