Dr. Pepper Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    4 oz. grated unsweetened chocolate
    4 Tbsp. white corn syrup
    1/2 c. butter
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 to 2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    1 1/3 c. Dr. Pepper
Preparation
    Put first 4 ingredients in saucepan.
    Cook slowly, stirring constantly until sugar and chocolate are dissolved.
    Continue on low-medium heat until 236\u00b0 or soft ball.
    Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm (110\u00b0).
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Beat until it loses its shine.
    Add nuts; pour into buttered square pan.
    Cool and cut into squares.
