Ingredients

3 c. fresh whole strawberries
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
3/4 c. cold water
1/2 c. water
1/8 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
red food coloring
baked pie shell
Preparation

Bring to a boil the sugar and 1/2 cup water.
Dissolve cornstarch in 3/4 cup water.
Add cornstarch mixture to sugar syrup mixture.
Stirring, cook about 10 minutes or until clear. Blend in salt, lemon juice and enough red food coloring to produce light red shade.
Pour prepared glaze over the strawberries and mix gently.
Cool and pour into cooled pie shell.
Garnish with whipped cream.
