Deep Dish Cherry Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 ready-made, deep dish pie shells
4 (16 oz.) cans tart cherries in water
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. cornstarch
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. almond extract
Preparation

Drain cherries; reserve 1 1/2 cups of juice and put cherries aside.
Combine cherry juice, 2/3 cup of sugar and cornstarch in a large saucepan.
Stir and cook over medium heat until thick and bubbly.
Gently stir in cherries, cinnamon and almond extract. Place one pie crust in pan and crease the edges.
Pour in cherry mixture.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
Place foil on edges of crust.
Reduce heat to 375\u00b0.
Add top crust.
Cut out hearts on top layer.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes more.
