Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 Delicious apples
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. cold water
2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Peel, core and halve apples.
In medium bowl, mix flour and salt.
Cut in shortening.
Pour in 1/3 cup cold water.
Stir until mixture resembles pie crust dough.
Roll 1/2 cup dough on floured surface until 1/8-inch thick.
Wrap around one apple half, folding dough in an overlapping fashion.
Place seam side down in a 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan.
Repeat with remaining dough and apple halves.
