Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. apple cider
    4 qt. apples, pared, cored and sliced in thin pieces
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. dark corn syrup
    1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. each: ground allspice and cloves
Preparation
    Boil cider until it is reduced to 1 quart.
    Add apples and cook slowly until mixture starts to thicken.
    Stir frequently. Add sugar, syrup and spices.
    Cook until mixture, when cooled on a dish, is of good consistency to spread.
