Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. self-rising cornmeal
    1 can creamed corn
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
    1 lb. ground beef or sausage, seasoned, cooked and drained
    1/2 c. onion
    1/2 c. chopped bell pepper
    1/3 c. cooking oil
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. red pepper
    dash of salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    enough buttermilk to mix
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except cheese and meat.
    Pour 1/2 mixture into greased hot skillet.
    Spread 1/2 cup cheese over mixture. Sprinkle remainder of cheese over meat.
    Add remaining batter. Bake at 350\u00b0 at least 45 minutes.
