Jerry Norton Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 cup water
    2 cups sugar
    2 cups peanuts (raw)
    2 Tbsp butter
    1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 cup syrup
Preparation
    In a heavy pan bring 1/2 cup water to a boil.
    Add sugar and syrup.
    Cook till it spins a thread.
    Add peanuts.
    Cook till golden brown, until you think its going to burn.
    Add butter, vanilla and soda.
    Stir and pour on buttered cookie sheet.
