Maple Walnut Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. real maple syrup
    2 c. milk, divided
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    1 c. finely chopped walnuts
Preparation
    In the top of a double boiler over boiling water, scald syrup and 1 3/4 cups milk.
    Combine cornstarch, salt and remaining milk. Gradually add to the syrup mixture.
    Cook and stir until thickened, about 25 minutes.
    Add a small amount to eggs.
    Return all to pan and cook for 5 minutes.
    Pour into serving dishes and sprinkle with walnuts.
    Cool.
    Yields 6 servings.
