Portuguese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. Polish sausage, sliced coin shapes
    6 c. water
    2 (16 oz.) cans red kidney beans
    1/2 doz. carrots, chopped
    1 small head cabbage, chopped
    1 onion, chopped
    4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
    1/2 green pepper, diced
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    garlic to taste
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Simmer sausage in 3 cups water for 20 minutes.
    Add other ingredients and simmer at least an hour.
    Yields 12 servings.
