Old Fashioned Rice Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. uncooked long grain rice
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    4 c. milk, divided
    3 eggs
    1/4 tsp. salt
    raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Combine
    rice
    and
    2 cups milk.
    Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until
    rice is tender.
    Stir in butter.
    Beat in eggs.
    Blend in sugar, vanilla, salt and remaining milk.
    Stir into hot
    rice
    mixture.
    Pour
    into
    slightly greased 2 quart casserole and top with nutmeg.
    Bake about 50 minutes at 350\u00b0.
