Italian Dream Cake - cooking recipe

1/2 c. margarine
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
1/2 c. sugar
5 eggs, separated
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 small can flaked coconut
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream margarine and shortening; add sugar, beating until smooth.
Add egg yolks; beat well.
Combine flour and soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Stir in vanilla, coconut and pecans.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour into 3 greased 9-inch pans.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 25 minutes or until done.
