Sweet And Sour Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
    2 red onions, thinly sliced
    1 small head red cabbage, about 1 lb., cored, thinly sliced
    1/2 c. red wine vinegar
    1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
    salt, to taste
    ground black pepper, to taste
Preparation
    Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
    Add onions, cover and cook until soft, about 4 minutes.
    Add cabbage, vinegar and brown sugar.
    Mix well.
    Cook, stirring often, until cabbage turns bright purple and is crisp-tender, 6 to 8 minutes.
    Add salt and pepper.
    Serve immediately or at room temperature.
    Makes 4 servings.
